Short film Bye Bye to screen at Berlinale 2012

Since last year I am producing The Self-Portrait Video Project in Cairo: a series of autobiographical short films by Egyptian artists.

I am proud to announce that the first completed film will now premiere at the Forum Expanded programme of the 62nd edition ot The International Film Festival in Berlin: Bye Bye, by photographer Paul Geday.

Bye Bye - a film by Paul Ayoub-Geday (6 minutes)

"In a turbulent time, a piece of family heritage doesn't want to leave the home."

Paul
is selling off bits and pieces of his family's heritage from the old
sprawling Cairo apartment he has inherited from his deceased parents.
But when it comes to parting with his mother's old piano, Paul finds it a
little bit difficult...

Film Screenings in Berlin:
Tuesday 14th of February, 17.30 at Arsenal 1
Wednesday 15th of February, 21.00 at Arsenal 2

Paul Geday will be present at both screenings

Bye Bye is a ZINdoc production

Next
films from The Self-Portrait Video Project, as well as a Van Egeraat
directed long-form creative documentary on these artists will premiere
in the course of 2012.

Bye Bye was developed during the
Self-Portrait Video Workshop, organized in collaboration with The
Townhouse Gallery and supported by The Embassy of The Kingdom of The
Netherlands in Egypt.
